Windows 7 Student Bargain

As Windows are releasing their next operating system, Windows 7 on the 22nd October, they’re deadly keen on getting it promoted in the best way possible.  There’s plenty of things an average university student could buy with £30, but what would you rather buy; a few study books or the new operating system Windows 7?

Windows attracted shed load’s of criticism for the high price tags of it, however Windows Vista didn’t get the best of reviews, hence 7 promising to have performance and security updates.  ”This makes it a great opportunity for students to get their hands on the most highly anticipated Windows operating system of all time, while saving themselves money in the process,” said Microsoft in a statement.

Both the Windows 7 Home Premium edition and Windows 7 Professional edition will be available for £30 each, compared to the normal retail prices of £79.99 and £189.99 respectively.  Students are urged to have a valid email address issued from their university.  7 is available to be pre-ordered by students from 30th September, and the offer runs until 7th January.

It seems Windows are killing two birds with one stone; they are hugely promoting the new software with thousands of students across the nation plus they are attempting to compete with Apple’s new operating system, Snow Leopard.  Apple are dishing out copies of Leopard at £29.99, the brand is hugely popular with university students; which will they choose now Windows have brought in this offer?
